How about travel packs or expedition groups or voyagers...

besides the fact that matthis and jeff are cracking me up with their mini flocks and travel packs, i like the names Life Group and Water Well. I think it needs to be something that's not intimidating for someone but also can be understood. Life group is understandable because you are doing life together and water well just sounds cool because it's like you are coming to the fountain together...getting life at the well.
This popped up on my screen saver and seemed to have some merit. Don't know that it would quite work as stated but something of that nature reflected in the name for these groups...
